About Wat Benchamabophit
Constructed from white Carrara marble imported from Italy and known as the Marble Temple, Wat Benchamabophit is one of Thailand’s most extravagant, unique and beautiful temples. The high gables, stepped-out roofs and ornate finials manifest Thai architectural style while the use of red carpets, the royal blue wall behind the central Buddha and gold-on-white wall motifs draw inspiration from European palaces. The temple is set within a beautiful landscaped garden with lotus filled canals spanned by Chinese-style footbridges.
