About Wat Saket
Also known as the Golden Mount or Phu Khao Thong, Wat Saket, is a Buddhist temple originating hundreds of years ago during the Ayutthaya era. Today the temple comprises a low hill topped with a golden chedi that houses a Buddha relic. Wat Saket hosts a large temple fair during Loy Krathong, drawing hordes of worshipers, families and fair-goers every November. The temple grounds come to life with pretty flags, colourful lanterns, food stalls, and fairground games and rides.
