About Catemba Portuguese Restaurant
This authentic Portuguese restaurant brings home the flavours, charm and hospitality of the old school seafaring days of this culture. The interior and vibe creates an atmosphere brimming with friendliness and homeliness. The passion that is put into every dish is clearly visible and the enthusiasm of the owners and staff inspiring.
The menu is large and contains something for everybody. Traditional Portuguese favourites like Peri Peri Chicken Livers and Moelas, beef fillet cubes in Prego Sauce can be enjoyed. For the diner that isn't squeamish, there is the Figado de Galinha, translate chicken giblets. Clean ox-tripe in a light curry with white beans and chouriço is another adventurous option. The more conservative palate can try the coconut lamb curry or the delectable prawns.
The Catemba Seafood Platter is perfect for sharing over a bottle or four of wine and contains six lipsmacking lemon butter prawns, four butter garlic mussels, 150 g calamari, two Portuguese sardines and one hake fillet. The 300g Portuguese fillet steak and egg topped with authentic prego sauce is not for the faint-hearted.
This restaurant delivers in quality and quantity and here you can have a feast without breaking the bank.
