About
Molemane Eye Nature Reserve
North West Province
Molemane Eye Nature Reserve is 11 km from Ottoshoop on the Lichtenburg/Zeerust Road.
The Molemane Eye and farm provides an abundance of attractions and historically significant places which include a National Monument - the old Duncan-Rose farmhouse has been converted into a museum.
Other developments include game stocking for breeding purposes with high value game species such as rhino, buffalo, sable and eland. The area has a rich cultural history, and mining connotations locally and in the immediate vicinity.
Its acessibility and proximity to Gauteng makes it an attractive weekend getaway. It is situated just off two major local and international tourist arteries - the N4 to Gaborone and the "Kalahari Super Highway".
There is a central conference and entertainment area overlooking the dam and offering some catering facilities.
Fishing is only for persons resident in the reserve. Angling may be done in the dam for Bass on a catch and release basis and no live bait may be used - artificial lures with barbless hooks only.
