Woodcliffe Camp Site
About Woodcliffe Camp Site
Woodcliffe Campsite is an extension of the Woodcliffe Country House garden. Set in a private area with excellent mountain views.
The campsite has braai facilities, firewood provided, an ablution block with gas showers and wash up facilities. There is an electrical plug point. Cell phone comms are poor at Woodcliffe. Uncapped Wi-Fi is available at the farmhouse.
Whatsapp is the best form of communication once you are here. Guests to Woodcliffe should have a reasonable clearance vehicle as we are 22km from Maclear along a gravel road.
We pledge to implement a high standard of hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests. We adhere to the industry safety protocols set out by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).

Important Information
Please allow 24-48hrs response time for bookings. We are a remote location and our satellite link for e-mails can go down from time to time.
We regret that we don't allow pets at Woodcliffe.
Guests are advised to arrive before 16:30 to avoid any confusion that may arise from travelling on gravel roads at night. We recommend that our guests arrive in a good clearance vehicle.
Summer rainfall can raise water levels and make access tricky for low-slung cars! The weather is always changeable so a change of warm clothing is always advisable.
Bring your hiking boots, swimming costumes, mountain bicycles, trout fishing rods, insect repellant and a weatherproof jacket.
Guests are advised to stock up on groceries (for self-catering guests) and drinks before leaving Maclear, as Woodcliffe is approximately 30 minutes from town.
If guests are planning to travel onto Rhodes we suggest that you fill up your vehicles in Maclear. There is no certainty that you can fill up in Rhodes as there is often no fuel there.
Should you require the services of a nature guide to visit world famous rock art or our Drakensberg ground orchids (Nov - Feb), please make arrangements with us well in advance.
A half a day is considered 4hrs and anything over that is considered a full day. If you book a guide you will be held to that commitment.
Woodcliffe will not undertake any catered stays between 1 Dec - 20 Jan and over Easter weekend unless prior arrangement is made.
The farmhouse is the reception area for the B&B. All arrivals and departures are from the farmhouse. Owner resides in a wing in the farmhouse.
All meals are served on the glassed veranda of the farmhouse. Woodcliffe is not licensed to sell alcohol. Guests are advised to bring their own drinks.
Wi-Fi is available FREE at the farmhouse. Whatsapp is the best method of communication once you are here.
The weather is always changeable at Woodcliffe. Our summers are typically warm with rain most afternoons; our winters have cool clear days and a frost most nights. Our spring and autumn months we have very mild days. August is our windiest month and the chances of veld fire the greatest.
Whatever your weather your welcome will be warm at Woodcliffe.
Woodcliffe is known for its hospitality.
We thank you for sharing our piece of Drakensberg with us!
