About Whale Coast Lodge

Whale Coast Lodge is located just 5 minutes’ walk from the village centre or down to the coast in the charming sea side town of Hermanus.

The Lodge is a luxury, child friendly home where children have space to play. It is a self-catering establishment with four en-suite rooms, fully-equipped communal kitchen and a cosy fire place with flat screen TV in the lounge. The Lodge has a barbeque area outside for the guests own use. The Lodge is serviced every day and clean towels and linen are provided. A camping cot is available on request for babies under age 3.

If you do not feel like sharing the lodge facilities with other guests, book one of our fully-equipped cottages or The Whale Coast Manor for your own privacy. We have recently renovated and added these three cottages and The Manor sleeps maximum of 10 people to our establishment.

Wood, firelighters and matches are available for purchase on the premises. We do have free Wi-Fi.

Family friendly: Whale Coast Lodge is a luxury child friendly home where children have space to play. It is a self-catering establishment with four en-suite rooms; fully equipped communal kitchen and a cosy fire place with flat screen TV and DStv in the lounge.

Romantic: Two of our rooms has spa baths and upon request we can change it into a honeymoon experience with candle lights, sparkling wine and rose petals.

★★★★★ Place is mostly wonderful, but some disappointments.The coffee machine and kettle in the room comes with 1 coffee pod (for a room sleeping two), and no milk or tea (although those might be in the kitchen somewhere).shared kitchen is pretty much like a dorm kitchen, cupboards aren't labelled so you spend most of your time in there digging through cupboards to find what you are looking for. ★★★★★ We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whale Coast Lodge. Cheryl was very friendly, helpful and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. A bit of sprucing up needs to be done but she assured us this is going to be happening this year. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely rest.

They were extremely apologetic for the move, but had made an excellent alternate plan, so our stay was short but we were well looked after. ★★★★★ Our stay was spoilt by the fact that the unit next door was rented out to a group of men that had a very rowdy party right through the night and the management was powerless to stop them. We were promised a refund but unfortunately they didn't keep their word.
