Uitzicht Private Game Reserve and Lodge is a private game reserve situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State, situated 350 kilometers from Johannesburg and just 12 kilometers outside Fouriesburg. Uitzicht Private Game Reserve and Lodge is a private game reserve situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State, situated 350 kilometers from Johannesburg and just 12 kilometers outside Fouriesburg. The lodge has incredible views over the Maluti Mountains.

Uitzicht Game Reserve hosts over 16 different wildlife species. Hunting season is from end of May to September but as we are registered as a Private Nature Reserve we can accommodate smaller family and friends groups throughout the year.

The lodge offers accommodation facilities ranging from self-catering units to luxury rooms. At the main lodge there is a bar area overlooking a swimming pool and Lapa. This area has breath-taking views of the Maluti Mountain range.

The game lodge also offers a wedding and conference venue. This modern venue hall can cater up to 120 wedding guests and 120 guests for a conference. There are nature hikes around the farm, where guests can choose between 2 hiking trails of either 18 kilometers and or 9 kilometers, which offers excellent views.

There are several attractions in and around the area of Fouriesburg. Guests can visit the beautiful town of Clarens, called 'the jewel of the Free State' and can be described as a big open planned shopping mall for all art lovers. Golden Gate offers breath-taking views, horse riding and hosts over 100 bird species. Guest can also visit the Basotho Cultural Village.

The Katse Dam is not far from the lodge and is the second largest dam in Africa. The dam is part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project and is truly a breathtaking site to see.

At the Oxbow ski resort situated in Lesotho guests can even try ice climbing and or skiing, but take note that a passport is needed for entry. There are also several golf- and bowls courses in and around the area of Fouriesburg.
