The Old School

The Old School is currently run as a Guest House and comprises 4 rooms, a kitchen, common areas, tennis courts and large grounds. The plot has a vegetable garden, produce from which would be purchased and utilized by guests for their on-site cooking. The garden is a feature for guests to enjoy. We have earmarked an area for an orchard, and an herb garden. The main focus will be the holistic element of specialist health and well-being retreats, however, the space will be perfectly suited for catering to tourists in the area as well as people making day trips from Cape Town.

The main focus will be the holistic element of specialist health and well-being retreats, however, the space will be perfectly suited for catering to tourists in the area as well as people making day trips from Cape Town.

The on-site kitchen can be utilized by guests for self-catering, but can also be used by a catering team to cater for the needs of the more specialist requirements for example retreats and film shoots. We plan to build a pizza oven and do Friday evening pizza nights for the local community. The kitchen will also boast our fresh, organic vegetables from farm to table which will be for sale to guests as well as the local community.

The Old School can also be used as a film shoot location – the town's proximity to Cape Town allows for film shoots to travel to Koringberg for a single day, without having to incur overnight accommodation for crew, or if needed for more than one shoot day, the added benefit is that we can offer accommodation on site for those needing to arrive early and leave late ie: unit and art department teams. We plan to start a members club - where members can enjoy access to the tennis courts, and the gardens, treatments etc. Tennis club – there is one tennis court on the property – open to use for guests as well as members.
