The 3rd room, "the bunk room" has 3 bunk beds on suite with shower and toilet. All the rooms have fire places and are off the grid with solar power lighting. Braai facilities, and catering facilities are available on site. Guests have access to a kitchen (on the Grid in the Club House, with a smart TV and Wi-Fi), Braai area which is approx. 15m from the room.

We are situated in the beautiful KZN Midlands, Lions River Country Side, just off of the R103, 1.5Km from Piggly Wiggly, 5Km from Midmar Dam, across the road from the Lions River Polo/Polocrosse Club and only 30Km from Pietermaritzburg. Nelson Mandela Capture Site is 5 km from The Hay Barn. Please note that our prices may vary over the weekends.

We have Mountain bike routes around the Lions River Valley and are not far from the Howick cycling routes as well as the Karkloof mountain bike trails. We are also within a few kilometers of the inspiring Mandela Capture Site and Apartheid Museum. We are in close proximity to numerous top wedding venues.

There are numerous restaurants and Coffee Shops within close proximity. There is a Farm shop on site (The Hay Barn) that stocks local milk, eggs, bread as well as horse equipment, antiques and feed. We are also a working equestrian yard/venue that hosts regular equestrian events. Day visitors are always welcome.
