Approximately 9 km from St Francis Bay, this superb and very private, 22 hectare beach-front home, with a kilometre of coastline, is situated in Rebels Nature Reserve. Nestled against a fynbos covered dune, a couple of steps from rock pools perfect for swimming, this home will foster a sense of peace and tranquillity. The villages of St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis lie on the Indian Ocean at the western end of Algoa Bay and are the perfect beginning to South Africa’s treasured Garden Route. These unique coastal towns offer a myriad of activities. From golf to deep sea fishing, superb restaurants to hiking in the dunes. Both boast magnificent beaches. As the heart of the chokka or squid fishing industry, the town of St Francis even boasts its own port. Only 100 km from Port Elizabeth en route to Cape Town, St Francis is ideally situated and easily accessible. An air field for private planes makes even Gauteng accessible within a few hours. Big 5 reserves are within an hour and a half drive, including the magnificent Addo Elephant National Park and Shamwari. Ideal for a group of friends or family, the three separate and fully functional units allow for a measure of space and privacy. Start your day with an early morning cup of tea or coffee whilst perusing the sea for dolphins and whales on the front deck. Alternatively enjoy the sun-drenched back deck, the beauty of the fynbos hillside air, filled with the morning bird songs. The agenda for the day could include an outing to St Francis Bay to shop or swim on one of the many beaches; a visit to the lighthouse at Cape St Francis; a stroll through the fynbos or along the coast; or simply lounge around your own private rock pools. Evening is a time for sundowners while watching the sun set over the distant hills to the west and scanning the bays for the resident otters and the arrival of Southern Right whales between June and September each year. If a cold front should arrive, a roaring fire along with good food and a taste of our local wines is the perfect precursor for a good nights sleep with the lulling sound of the ocean. DStv is also available in the main house.
