Thaba Monate is under new ownership as of November 2022 and a lot of renovation is underway. We are trying our best to give you some new memories at Thaba Monate as the old reviews have a negative impact on Thaba Monate.

Before confirming your booking, kindly take note of the following information.

Restaurant available FOR LARGE GROUPS AND VENUES. Kiosk near swimming pools available for take aways and drinks. Self-Catering chalets, includes all utensils and bedding. (NO TOWELS)
No breakfast self-catering chalets. No housekeeping service. Low cell signals in the area. Low wi-fi signals. Not wheelchair accessible. NO TV NO WI-FI
Pet-friendly, no bigger than knee-high. Please keep on a leash
Owners' risk as we are in the bush and there are baboons.
Prices per chalet include only one under roof parking (1 vehicle) per chalet.
Minimum of 2 nights booking policy
Our roads are dirt & stone and very rocky, accessible with high or 4x4 vehicles only.
When it comes to check-in and check-out times, we kindly request your cooperation:
CHECK-IN: FROM 14H00 to 18h00 STRICTLY (The gate closes at 18h00 and no entry is permitted afterward)
CHECK-OUT: 10am - NO EXEPTIONS - (Later checkouts will be billed for a full day)
On Sundays, the main gate closes at 13H00



NO DAY VISITORS ALLOWED AT CHALETS
Our 4-sleeper self-catering chalets feature a private room with a double bed and an upper loft room with a bunk bed. Own braai area. The maximum occupancy for the 4-sleeper chalets is 4 people, with 2 adults and 2 kids being the ideal configuration.
Our 6-sleeper self-catering chalets offer two private rooms, each with a double bed, as well as a loft room with two separate single beds. Own braai area. These chalets can accommodate a maximum of 6 people, with 4 adults and 2 kids being the recommended capacity.
If you prefer camping, (Rooibok camp) Set in an open camp where antelopes freely roam through, these sites are within walking distance from our facilities and swimming pools. Each stand allows a maximum of 6 campers and includes an electric point. Shared ablution facilities are also available.
Each stand has its Own braai area
We do not supply tents or caravans. (Empty stands no rooms or beds on stands)
RULES: The Game lodge is family orientated and a disciplined environment with a good set of rules.
1. NO LOUD MUSIC OR ANY NOISE allowed!! SOFT MUSIC THAT ONLY YOU CAN ENJOY AND NOT YOUR NEIGHBOURS!
AFTER 8PM PLEASE TURN MUSIC OFF.
2. SPEED LIMIT 20KM PER HOUR we have kids, wildlife and horses roaming free.
3. NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED. PLEASE PUT YOUR FIRES OUT WHEN DONE. Braais are provided.
4. Please don’t feed the animals as wild animals can be dangerous.
5. LITTERING Bins are provided.
6. No glass bottles OR alcohol allowed at swimming pool areas.
