The unique and most exciting feature of this area is the abundance of marine mammals in the bay, which is flanked by two marine nature reserves and therefore rich in food for the resident whales and dolphins. During July to September every year, the southern right whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. There are boat trips all year round to see brydes whales and dolphins.
