There are braai facilities available on request and the lodge has a sparkling swimming pool with a luxury lapa and where guests can enjoy meals.

The complex is ideal for tour groups and families. Explore the lake on a hippo cruise, take a safari to the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve, go deep sea fishing or do whale and dolphin watching. There are walking trails, turtle tours, night drives and beach adventures; there is a world of wonder waiting for you in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands World Heritage Site.

The lake and surrounding area, as well as the wetlands surrounding it, teems with hippos, crocodiles and many other wild animals. Birds include fish eagles, hornbills, goliath herons, paddle-billed storks, green pigeons, loeries, narina and trogons to name a few. It is probably South Africa's best bird-viewing area with over 520 identified species here. Unspoilt beaches stretch for many hundreds of kilometres. Cape Vidal offers excellent snorkelling and protected swimming.
