The village can be reached by 2x4 via a 13 km sand road. This remoteness adds to the attraction of the area. The last 1km to Serenity sometimes require a 4x4 when the lagoon mouth is closed and the water rising. Plse enquire beforehand about a transfer if needed.
The Portuguese influence is strong in the Mozambican cuisine and a variety of restaurants prepare dishes that will tantalize your taste buds.There are 2 restaurants on the beach near Serenity, and they also deliver to the resort.
Canoes are for available free of charge and trips to the mouth via boat can be arranged. There are scores of sand tracks that can be explored by quad bike or 4x4. The lagoon lends itself to water sports, so bring your boat or jet-ski. Swimming is safe due to the shallowness of the lagoon and the water is always warm. At the mouth you can do safe snorkeling and, depending on the season, you can see whales and turtles in the ocean.
