Scalarhoney Lodge is located in the middle of the Tsitsikamma mountains, (access to our reserve is via Route 62/Kareedouw or Joubetina). We are the original Garden of Eden experience living off the grid, no Wi-Fi but we assure you a better connection with NATURE in the Tsitsikamma Mountain Reserve, a private reserve, our very own Heaven on Earth. We have created a Rustic eco cabin in the mountains built from natural materials the mountain has to offer including a quartz crystal mosaic floor to cleanse and heal body, mind and soul! We have crystal clear Spring drinking water, Organic Honeybush tea, Fynbos Pure organic Honey, Honeybush Infused Gin and Vodka plus herbal spices. There is a self contained kitchen unit equipped with utensils a gas fridge/freezer, gas cooker and hot water. The bathroom has a shower and flush toilet. Our rustic outdoor cabin is situated on the river bank with river rapids and rock pool on your doorstep. The rustic self catering cabin sleeps 2 on a king size bed with a sleeper couch for 1 small child (linen and towels are provided.). Please note we do not have 24/7 internet and a booking request may take up to 48hrs to confirm. The cabin is secluded with its own braai and parking area. Situated right on the river between trees. Enjoy easy mountain hikes in the kloof and up to a number of river rapids and waterfalls through fynbos, fern and tree forests. There are many natural swimming ponds to bathe in on the many walks. We also have a private glamping site available - The Buchu Treehouse is situated in a Keurboom and fynbos forest along the riverbed. The Buchu glamping site is a 250 m walk from the parking area. The tented camp site is self catering and sleeps 2 adults on a kingsize bed and 1 child on a single bed. Linen and towels are provided. The glamping site has a kitchenette equipped with cooking utensils a gas cooker, small fridge/freezer. A hot shower, camp and flush toilet is provided. We are only 80km by road from Stormsriver/Tsitsikamma village. Our spot is not ideal to be used as a base to tour the Garden Route area, but more to retreat and hike for a couple of days.
