About Rolbaken Guesthouse and Nature Reserve

About Rolbaken Guesthouse and Nature Reserve

Being up in the foothills of the mountains means that we experience weather that is milder than Oudtshoorn; it is never either as cold or as hot as the town. In winter, frost is a rare occurrence and the summer nights are always blessed with a cool breeze. We are just 20 km from the main N12 from Beaufort West to Oudtshoorn on a very good gravel road and just 40 km from Oudtshoorn itself. The farm offers a place to relax, unwind and get away from it all, or can serve as a wonderful springboard for exploring the area.Lucern for animal feed and rose geranium for the essential oil industry are

We met 2 lovely people and shared gorgeous meals with them on their charming little farm. A very pleasant stay.

Unfortunately we (a group of four pensioners from Germany) stayed at Rolbaken on a rainy day but Dick and Mary made it a sunny day for us. Such a warm welcome, neat an cosy rooms, a fantastic dinner and breakfast accompanied by a most inspiring conversation with Dick and Mary! We will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic hospitality, Mary is a wonderful hostess with such a warm way of making you feel right at home. My 2 daughters were with us, and both commented on how comfortable they felt. Its quiet, no TV, only the sound of nature all around - exactly what we needed. We will... Read more
