The hotel offers a variety of rooms which are divided into Suites, Superior and Standard Rooms. All the rooms have ocean views. The Suites and the Superior Rooms are differentiated by their location, size and private outside area with swing beds. The rooms have overhead fans, mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms with showers, fresh flowers and personal safes.

Enjoy some lunch on the roof terrace, and dine under the stars or in the more formal dining room. There are fresh seafood and sushi or traditional Swahili-style cooking available in our restaurant. Peponi’s legendary bar is a favourite watering hole for guests and Shela village locals alike. Enjoy our famous house cocktail or a fresh juice on the veranda as the dhows sail by.

Peponi’s gardens have been integral part of the hotel and Shela village for over 40 years, boasting one of the largest and most varied collections of tropical palms on the Kenyan coast. Swing hammocks under the shade of coconut trees or take a dip in the swimming pool.

Peponi has a range of water sports for all age groups and levels of experience. Lamu archipelago offers some of Kenya’s best snorkelling waters, with favourable conditions between October and April. The reefs at Manda Toto and Kiniyka have an abudance of reef fish and live coral, even the chance of seeing and swimming with turtles and dolphins. After snorkelling guests can enjoy a picnic breakfast or lunch on the beach.
