About Pafuri Rivercamp

Pafuri Rivercamp offers a rustic tented tree-house camp and secluded bush camp on the banks of the Mutale River, a tributary to Limpopo. It is located in rural Venda, next to Makuya Nature Reserve and 4 km from the Pafuri Gate of the Kruger Park.

The lodge consists of five private camps, from two to eight beds per camp, each with its own ablutions, kitchen, braai area and river frontage.

Enjoy exploring, birding, walking, or just relax in the friendly and informal atmosphere that keeps our guests coming back. Self-cater in the privacy of your own site. Sip an ice cold drink at our bush pub or on the pool deck. An ideal stopover en-route through Kruger Park, Zimbabwe or Mozambique. Come and live in the bush for a while.

The camp was exactly as advertised Rustic which was fantastic. But staff morale was low because they were informed they would not be recieving a salary this month and it was obvious by their begaviour which is understandable. What was unacceptable was the behaviour of personal friends of the owner who arrived late at night drub and raced up and down playing loud music and screaming and shouting at all hours and when reported to the manager he said his hands were tied because they were friends of the owner.

We loved the tents, the braai area, the view, the peacefulness, the birds.... Very neat and cleaned daily.Only thing I would recommend is to replace mattresses ASAP.Thanx for a pleasant stay x

Loved the tents it was clean, comfortable, private and i felt free and safe. Got a bit lost trying to get to the exit in the dark morning - exit signs is needed. I do think each camp site shoud have a map outlining the hiking trail and some historical sites with interesting facts of the camp for exploring

I loved staying at the camp. however, I really found the stairs very dangerous. I suggest you widen each stair and put another stair at the bottom because from the ground to the first stair is quite high baring in mind you carry your luggage. Otherwise, it was great, thankyou

This was an amazing discovery. Loved the set up and been cut off from stress. To add to the pleasure, to met up with an old friend after 30 years who is actually the owner of the place. This could not have been better!
