About Ouberg Private Nature Reserve

The Ouberg Private Nature Reserve is a Karoo mountain escape, only a 3-hour drive from Cape Town. Get ready to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Klein Karoo at Ouberg Private Nature Reserve! Our location off the Ouberg Pass, just 20 km from the charming village of Montagu, is the perfect spot for your next adventure.
We offer various self-catering and group options, including exclusive off-grid cabins and a stunning tented camp surrounded by majestic mountain ranges.

The cabins are comfortable, simple and eclectically furnished with beautiful views, basic kitchen facilities, dining and living areas and braai facilities. The cabins are off-grid and are solar and inverter-powered.

De Kuile Tented Camp accommodates a maximum of 8 people in 4 safari-style tents, mounted on wooden decks. The tents are furnished with 2 comfortable single beds and a private deck with two chairs and a little table. The guests in each tent have use of all the facilities in the camp. These include the communal kitchen and dining boma, the ablution facility and the braai/barbeque boma. In the summer months, there is a plunge pool for cooling off on the deck of the boma.

Guests can access the 900-hectare nature reserve, perfect for hiking, mountain or gravel biking and birding. Come and explore the wonders of the Klein Karoo with us!

Important Information

* The reserve is off-the-grid with no cell phone reception.
* There is no cell signal or Wi-Fi at the Bloukrans Cabin.
* The reserve is mountainous, and the access roads are all dirt. We recommend that visitors use a raised vehicle such as an SUV or bakkie to access the farm, although a sedan vehicle with reasonable clearance and normal tyres and rims can drive the main farm road. A 4x4 is not necessary.
* The Bloukrans Offgrid Cabin is pet-friendly. The De Kuile Tented Camp and Gecklo Cottage - no pets are allowed.

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total. If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit. If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit. If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 10% of the booking total.
