Amber River Camp boasts six exquisite luxury tents, three nestled on each side of the island, connected by a tranquil, treelined walkway.

This traditional reed and canvas-style camp offers tents elevated on raised decks, each featuring an outdoor bathtub for starlit soaking, indoor showers, and a double vanity area adorned with a picture frame ‘Ferrari’ gauze window that frames awe-inspiring views across the delta.

Our barefoot luxury safari tents are spacious and beautifully designed to immerse your senses in the sights and sounds of the Okavango Delta. The plush linens and finishes and luxury amenities ensure a comfortable, relaxing stay. Our innovative ‘cool canvas’ technology provides an environmentally friendly, sustainable way to maintain the perfect ambient temperature, letting you enjoy the natural beauty around you without compromising on comfort.

Each tent is thoughtfully appointed, with every detail considered to enhance your stay. A private veranda overlooks the lagoon and wetlands, offering the perfect spot to unwind in comfortable chairs or enjoy a quiet read. Inside, en-suite bathrooms feature a basin, flush toilet, and a hot-water shower, while the highlight remains the outdoor bathtub and shower, ideal for starlit soaks under the African sky.

Inspired by the romance of 1930s safaris, the décor is elegant yet unpretentious, seamlessly blending style and simplicity. Guests enjoy luxury eco-friendly amenities such as insect repellent, shampoo, and conditioner, along with high-quality bed linen, towels, and mosquito nets for a peaceful night’s rest. Ample storage is provided via two cupboards with hanging space, a luggage rack, and a power outlet to charge photographic equipment and phones. A standing fan ensures added comfort during warmer days.

We highly recommend spending time in camp to soak up the sights and sounds our wetland wonderland offers. The pool area is where it’s at! Let the animals come to you in camp as they go about their daily life, undisturbed. From the tranquil, sun-drenched pool deck, you can observe them from a safe distance, creating a peaceful and captivating wildlife experience.

Perched on an island in the permanent Sandididebe Channel, Amber River Camp offers guests the rare privilege of experiencing water-based activities year-round. Glide silently through mirrored waterways on a mokoro, watch hippos bask in the shallows, or cast a line for the thrill of catch-and-release fishing.
