Sand River Selous is located on the shore of the Rufiji River in the Selous Game reserve. The camp is set on platforms overlooking the river. The location is ideal for adventurous couples, families and honeymooners who enjoy a safari vacation with more than just game drive.

The camp consists of five open ended thatched, stone chalets and three Hillside Suites. The rooms all have private en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water and a flush toilet. There are mosquito nets around the beds. The luxurious suites include a private splash pool. The camp site has a separate bar area, swimming pool, shop and dining room.

Rooms are lit by low power voltage. Chargers are available in each room, and extra equipment can be charged in the manager’s office. There is limited cell phone reception in some areas. There are basic laundry facilities onsite with ironing done with a coal iron.

Activities include boating, fishing, picnics, hot springs, walking, game drives and bird watching.

Rates include all activities game drives, walking safaris, fishing and boat trips; scheduled road transfers to and from Kiba airstrip; all drinks, except champagne and premium, wines and laundry.

The rates exclude Game Reserve fees; transfers within Selous; flights, gratuities, champagne and cellar wines, items of a personal nature, insurance, flying doctors and medical evacuation.
