Greystoke Mahale is located on the shore of Lake Tanganyika in Western Tanzania. The camp is one of only two camps from which you can spend time with the habituated chimpanzee. Activities include forest walks, boating, fishing, kayaking, swimming and bird watching. Chimp trekking can be arranged for up to twelve people on a trip.
Solar power is provided for the rooms mainly for lights. Phones and camera batteries can be charged in the dining area on request. There is no cell phone reception at the camp. There are limited laundry facilities onsite with basic ironing done with a coal iron.
Rates include all activities including scheduled chimp treks, forest walks, boating and kayaking; scheduled boat transfers to and from Mahale airstrip; all drinks except champagne and premium wines, and laundry.
The rates exclude Tanapa Park Entry fees, Tanapa Chimp Permit, Tanapa game fishing fee, flights, gratuities, champagne and cellar wines, items of a personal nature, insurance, flying doctors and medical evacuation.
