Nhoma Safari Camp is a small, activity-orientated, tented camp situated in the northeastern corner of Namibia in Nhoma. Nhoma Safari Camp is unique because it is just next to the local village of Nhoma, home of the Ju|'hoansi San Bushmen. The tented camp is situated in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy, at the basin of the Kalahari desert.
At the bottom of the dune, the fauna combines bush and savannah trees. We offer a fully inclusive option to stay in our safari tents, including all meals, drinks and activities.
Our Safari tents feature wooden decks, are well spaced and shaded by Zambezi Teak trees. Each tent contains 1 double bed and 1 single bed, with an en-suite bathroom. Wood-fired boilers provide hot water for bathing. There are no electrical points in the tents or camp. In front of the tent is a deck, where guests can sit and enjoy the vistas of big trees, lush vegetation and passing elephants.
Meals and drinks are provided in the central dining area. Electrical devices can be charged in the lapa area. The camp is running on solar power only. The fresh and potable borehole water is pumped with solar energy as well. The water quality gets tested regularly and qualifies as good drinking water quality. Our booster system amplifies the cell phone signal from the closest radial to provide mobile reception in the main area. Satellite Wi-Fi is available in the lapa area.
Occasionally, the migrating wild elephants can be seen at the waterhole. The elephants cannot enter the camp's premises as the whole camp is protected with an elephant trench.
To enable our guests an immersive experience, a minimum of two nights stay is recommended. This will give you ample time to take in the community and our bushman village and dive into the wisdom of the hunters and elders.
The activities at the camp are centred around the Bushmen culture and range from hunting and tracking wild animals, veld food gathering, and making of hunting equipment to traditional games and healing dances.
