About Naro Moru River Lodge

On the slopes of Africa’s second highest mountain sits a perfect and serene base for climbing Mount Kenya and vacation establishment, of rustic cabins and cottages that reflect nature and unrivalled hospitality. Naro Moru River Lodge is an austere cabin residence just south of the equator, in the heart of a small market town about 150 km north-northeast of Kenya’s capital Nairobi. This breathtaking mountain lodge is a quiet locale to have fun, be with family and friends, with easy access to Mount Kenya’s peaks for climbing, hiking or trekking, biking, and bird watching.

Established in 1949, Naro Moru River Lodge boasts one of the finest mountain climbing facilities south of the Equator offering unique holiday and recreational activities that promise to be fun, friendly and unforgettable.

Choose your lodging style; whether you like to sleep under the stars or cuddle up in a deluxe room by the fireplace, or you prefer to spend the night in our cosy self-service cottages or country homes named after Mount Kenya’s peaks, rivers and valleys, Naro Moru River Lodge offers something for everyone.

We have rooms well equipped with en-suite bathrooms and pine furnishings. Bed linen is also provided. Each one blends perfectly into their natural surroundings providing a good level of comfort and warmth throughout the year. The cottages and country homes come with the advantage of a tree lined walkway and verandah that has a picnic table and allows eating alfresco.

The conference facilities at Naro Moru Lodge are set in pristine natural surroundings where you will only be distracted by the sounds of a bubbling river, crickets and exotic birds in abundance.

Wedding Venues: We have lush tropical gardens suitable as weddings grounds and offering a most tranquil setting for honeymooners. We also provide banqueting services for private gala functions, dinners and parties.

Conference Venues: We manage different conferencing events and cater for groups of up to 150 delegates. We provide an extensive range of equipment for all your meetings including business support facilities.
