About Mooiplaas Guest House

Mooiplaas Country Guesthouse and Spa is ideally located in the peaceful countryside yet only 10 km from Oudtshoorn which offers much to do and see. It is the “Ostrich Capital” of the world and close to the world-famous Cango Caves. Whether you are looking for adventure, sports, culture and history or wish to relax and enjoy the pure tranquility of the countryside, you will find it here.

Start your day with a traditional farmhouse breakfast and at the end of the day enjoy a candlelit dinner which a both specialties at Mooiplaas. The staff will also be delighted to prepare light meals for you by prior arrangement and they will offer insider’s advice on where to eat out.

On-site activities include hiking and walking, jogging, mountain bikes and a swimming pool. Don’t miss a private tour of Mooiplaas Ostrich Farm where you will learn interesting facts about ostriches and the famous feather industry. Get up close to these inquisitive birds and feel the thrill of seeing a baby chick peck its way into this brand new world. Our on-site registered tour guide is available to help with planning and arranging trips in the area.

Important Information

All rates are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR). Mooiplaas Guest House rates include breakfast. Rooms are ready for occupation by 14h00. Guests are kindly requested to vacate rooms by 10h30. All accounts must be settled on departure except by prior arrangement with the guest house. Bookings are recommended for dinner in the Manor House.

All reservations require a 50% deposit of total stay. Reservations will be confirmed on receipt of deposit. All reservations are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Children under 2 years stay free of charge. Please notify the guest house in case of late arrival.

★★★★★ We really enjoyed our stay and will be back. Thw staff are extremely friendly and professional and Marchal in particular was amazing. They help with anything you need. Food was great for dinner and such a wide variety at breakfast. Clean and beautiful.
