Hotel MONOPOL has over 110 years long tradition. From the beginning of its existence MONOPOL has delighted its regulars with luxury, modern equipment and architectonical taste. Among number of great Guests visiting this legendary hotel one may find Karol Szymanowski, an outstanding polish composer, who lived in the hotel in May 1934 and Jan Kiepura a splendid polish tenor, who stayed in the hotel many times. In 1936 he married Martha Eggerth. For the place of the ceremony he chose Katowice and for the wedding itself – MONOPOL hotel. This year it is 80 anniversary of his wedding… It might be an excellent opportunity to visit this first-class hotel, as proclaimed the catchphrases on posters in 1930's.From the beginning Hotel MONOPOL has had a good name respected by Bohemia from Katowice and by international community. Hotel constituted a prestigious place, enraptured with decoration, architecture and remarkable ambience.MONOPOL is the only one 5 star hotel in Katowice.It is located in a beautiful, 100 years old building, situated in the city center at the confluence of Dworcowa and Dyrekcyjna streets. Having been completely renovated and modernized it started its operation in September 2003. The property maintains the style and character of its original period of 1930s.There are 108 rooms, furnished mostly in art-deco style. The rooms are visibly bigger in MONOPOL than standard rooms in other hotels, what essentially increases the comfort of our Guests stay.
