About Molalatau Lodge

Molalatau, “the resting place of the lion”, is a small oasis in the most beautiful, hart of the Bushveld. At the very same spot where the Mogolo river and the Rietspruit meets. This is where it found its peaceful way between the Nyala - and Water-berry trees. This is also where the King rests at night and is awaken by the early morning call of the Fish Eagle. Here you will find verdant green lawns, colourful gardens and beautiful accommodation. Our accommodation consists of Bushbuck Chalets, Eagle Rooms, Monkey Cabins, Leopard Cottage, King Fisher Rooms and a spacious camping

Beautiful place, peaceful stay. My children refused a few times to leave as we were only there for just a night. Our needs where catered for and Elliot was very helpful and accommodating from when bookings were made. The hospitality was amazing, the experience was incredible. We are definitely going back soon for a longer stay soon. Only dilema was the mosquitos, but a good repellent stick eased... Read more

the place needs a lot of renovations and upgrade. the wooden floors were very fragile and need to be maintained. The cabins are in need of a good clean and proper care. bathrooms need to cleaned properly and the floors need to be fixed. the kitchen needs new appliances.

I arrived just after 21h00 & was greeted by a friendly guard. He woke the reception person, who showed me to my room. It was basic & clean. I fell asleep soon afterwards after a long day driving. Upon waking at about midnight to a room infested with mozzies, I could find no spray. I also had to go to the loo, I found no toilet paper in the unit. Thankfully I had some loo-paper in my car, so had... Read more

Tiles to be sorted in Eagle roon 12. Perhaps rubber capets o the doors necessary to keep the rooms clean as guests move in and out. Some game with other nature reserves could be arranged for guest at an extra cost to lift the interest...otherwise we enjoyed our stay and we will still use the lodge in the future

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome at Molalatau. Our thatched chalet was very rustic, but suitable for the evening. We had a very nice stay, and breakfast the next morning was wonderful.
