Reservation Policy

As a home stay we apply a slightly different reservation policy than you might expect from a hotel.

Due to our very intimate size, unlike hotels, we do not over book and, we have no walk-in trade therefore cancellations affect us greatly! By booking with us, you acknowledge that you fully understand and accept the terms of this policy:

1. All rates are quoted in South African Rand.
2. Rates are subject to change without prior notification.

Individual Booking Confirmation

Your reservation will be automatically cancelled if:

1. Any one of the above deadlines are not met.
2. Where details are provided, if the card is declined or reported by the bank as invalid or fraudulent.
3. Where the deposit option is used, your accommodation will only be confirmed on receipt of proof of payment.
4. We will not send you a reminder email, so ensure you communicate when you have sent the payment by forwarding us the proof of payment to [email protected]. You will receive a confirmation of receipt of any deposits made.

Reservation Policy

1. We reserve the right of admission.
2. Reservations are subject to our reservation and cancellation policies.
3. Confirmation of your reservation is subject to availability, and we book on a first come first served basis.
4. All rooms at Mizizi House of Sandton Bed and Breakfast can accommodate up to 2 guests maximum.
5. Room types are subject to availability at the time of booking.
6. We aim to respond to your written request for a quote or reservation as soon as we receive it. Please note that if you do not get a response within 24 hours, it is likely we have not received your email. Kindly send it again.

7. Please call us if you require an immediate response. Our working hours are between 08:00am and 06:00pm South Africa time GMT+2 Monday to Friday and 08:00am and 03:00pm South Africa time GMT+2 on Saturdays and Sundays.

8. In order to guarantee the reservation, (unless otherwise agreed with Management) the following must be provided: No complimentary rooms and no commission structures are applicable.
a. Pre-payment as indicated on this confirmation of the reservation; or
b. Details of one of the following recognised credit cards: Master Card or Visa.
c. Full payment is due upon check-in, unless indicated otherwise.

Check In & Check Out

1. Subject to the availability of rooms, Guests may check-in from 14h00 on the arrival date and must check-out by no later than 10h00 am on the departure date.
2. Should you require an early or late check-in, please make your request on booking.
3. Due to the Immigration Amendment Act no.19 of 2004, positive personal identification will be required at the time of making your booking or upon check-in. A valid Passport or an ID Document will be acceptable.

Minimum & Maximum Stays

1. We reserve the right of admission.
2. In principal, we only take reservations for two nights or more.
3. One Night Reservations - are reserved strictly on request and subject to availability except under the following circumstances:
a. Day Use Rooms - We do not offer day use rooms under any circumstances.
b. One Night Reservations - We do not take one-night reservations where:
i. A guest wishes to book the room in the daytime for a few hours without spending the night.
ii. A guest wishes to book the room for a few hours in the evening without spending the night.
iii. Where a guest arrives after 7 PM on the night of the reservation AND/OR leaves before 7 AM the next morning.

Deposit Policy

1. Unless with written consent from management, All Reservations require a deposit as indicated herein. If a deposit has not been supplied by the time specified, the relevant Reservations(s) may be cancelled without notice.
2. 50% of the total amount will be charged / must be paid on the day of booking.
3. Rates are subject to change without prior notice.
4. You may pay the full amount in one go if you wish to avoid double transfer costs.

Cancellation Policy:

The Bed and Breakfast reserves the right to retain a cancellation fee as follows if a reservation is not cancelled. This amount will be charged on the deposit/full payment / credit cards: Master Card or Visa depending on the booking.

1. Written Notice to us for Cancellation is required.
a. Forfeit 100% of total if guest cancels 7 days before arrival.
b. Forfeit 100% of Deposit if guest cancels 14 days before arrival.
c. Forfeit 100% of Deposit if guest cancels 21 days before arrival.
d. Forfeit 50% of Deposit if guest cancels 30 days before arrival.

2. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
3. Missed nights due to any reasons, whether family circumstances, acts of God, civil or government disturbances, car break-downs, flight delays, or bad weather, etc. will be charged in full.
