About Melrose Game Farm

Melrose is a farm with tradition from the pioneer days. It is nestled in a unique landscape on the edge of the Khomas Hochland, where the landscape varies from plains to hills and mountains. The farmhouse has a nearby dam and is approximately 2000 m above sea level.The owner of Melrose was the renowned pioneer named Frank James Bassingthwaighte, born in 1820 and deceased in 1888. The main house has a comfortable and welcoming lounge area with an open fireplace, terraces, a well-kept garden, swimming pool, fitness room and a stylish restaurant with its fully licensed Cheetah Bar

Melrose Game Farm is a very pretty place with nice rooms, beautiful meeting pount and a wonderful surrounding. Service was kind.

Beautiful location with private waterhole. Good lodge close by but not well known and there with empty when we stayed there. The picture used in the advert is not recognized. Arie, the local person helpIng at the campsite, was very friendly, helpful and doing a great effort to make a stay a great experience.

The rooms are really outdated and the bathroom in rally bad condition. The toilets were barely working and the water from the tab was brownish...

Campers must avoid this venue at all costs. We surprised everyone on the premises by arriving. The camp site has been used as a cow camp and you have to make space amongst the cow pats to pitch a tent. Ground is covered in Acacia thorns and we spent a lot of time clearing a spot.
