Melrose Game Farm

Melrose is a farm with tradition from the pioneer days. It is nestled in a unique landscape on the edge of the Khomas Hochland, where the landscape varies from plains to hills and mountains. The farmhouse has a nearby dam and is approximately 2000 m above sea level.The owner of Melrose was the renowned pioneer named Frank James Bassingthwaighte, born in 1820 and deceased in 1888. The nearby dam attracts many bird species and game can be observed from raised or concealed hides.

Windhoek is close by and lends itself to sightseeing. The hot springs of Rehoboth Reho-Spa can be reached in under an hour. Day tours to Gamsberg and Namib Naukluft Park can be arranged on request.
