Melkstal Cottage is furnished with a double bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, and a gas two-plate stove. There is an outdoor covered braai area, shared with The Blue Room. Melkstal Cottage is hidden in the indigenous garden filled with bird life and song.
The Blue Room is furnished with 2 single beds that can be placed together and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, a basin a toilet and a shower. This unit is equipped with a small fridge as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities. There is an outdoor covered braai area, shared with Melkstal Cottage.
The Langkloof Gallery exhibits Sheena Ridley's sculptures in the gardens, and a view into the host’s art studio where there are oil paintings, pastels, and smaller sculptures. It is only 500 m from the N9/R62, but hidden from the road and accessible by all vehicles.
A two-course home-made dinner is offered at an additional cost per person (booking essential). This can be served alfresco undercover at the main house, at the gallery or at your unit.
There are two dams a short walk away suitable for swimming in. The skies are clear for stargazing, the nights are quiet though you may hear a jackal and an owl or two. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Situated on a fruit and sheep farm, not far off the R62, it is easy to relax here.
