About Malagas Hotel

Malagas Hotel is a family friendly country hotel situated on the banks of the mighty Breede River.

This is where time slows down to give you the relaxation and peace you need for a restful stay. In summer cool off by the pool or enjoy a refreshing drink on the terrace, in the colder winter evenings warm up by the fire in the dining room or Moxie’s Pub.

Our meals included in the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate consists of a full South African breakfast and a hearty 5 course home cooked dinner, try our selection of vintage wines to accompany your meal.

This tranquil setting within the Lower Breede River Conservancy area attracts a vast diversity of bird life. One of which is the Protected Blue Crane (National Bird of South Africa) which can be spotted on the gravel road winding through the farmlands leading to the hotel.

Facilities include: Canoes, Small Motor Boat, Swimming pool, Trampolines, Jungle Gym, Croquet, Volley Ball, Pool Table, Darts, Children’s Lounge, Adult Lounge, Restaurant and Bar.

Conference Venues: Our conference room can accommodate 80 persons. Facilities include data projector, overhead projector, TV, sound system, mints, bottled water and use of canoes.

                          Friendly staff, food is edible/average but not to enjoyable and portions way to big. The lady did ask of we are enjoying the food but being friendly one cant critique her in her face.Other guests had the same complaint. The rooms you book through safari now and what you get are not the same. We booked the room with walk in shower and got the one with shower over bath. The manager gave us another room which is more expensive but didnt charge the difference. Fresh milk in room would be nice compared to creamer. Our towels had a smell. The bedding had a dusty musty odour and crumbs on the sheets....

                          Comfortable and adequate rooms. Friendly and accommodating staff. We opted for dinner bed and breakfast option, but 5-courses for dinner is really too much. The pub is nice and a good place to watch sport and meet other guests. It has a fireplace which was welcome on cold winter evenings especially during load shedding, but for some strange reason there is a rule that the fire is only lit a 6pm despite the pub being full of shivering guests?

                          The piped music was inappropriate for a quiet country hotel setting. It also seemed to be the same tunes repeated over and over.The pillows were hard and the bedding a bit "tired"

                          Sadly we didn’t eat dinner as we were in town for a wedding. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Beds and bedding: ample comfortable and happy sleeps 😊 No aircons but great ceiling fans - that sometimes vibrate a bit but boy do they cool you down. Go back? Oh yes!
