About Lovedale Farm Holidays

Lovedale Farm Holidays gives you the most affordable self-catering accommodation in the Helmeringhausen area. Come and enjoy a relaxed and affordable stay on the oldest commercial farm in Namibia, still in the same family since 1854. Farming is still our main activity and therefore you can experience an active sheep farm on a daily basis.

We have self-catering cottages, fully equipped with bed linen, towels, fridges, stoves and everything you need in the kitchen. Each cottage has its own barbecue area.

As from 2013 we only take pre-booked reservations and unfortunately no walk-ins. So booking is essential.

Family friendly: Ample space for children to run around after a day in the car. We are a working farm, so don't expect the yard to be quiet, as the animals will make noises.

              The rooms was clean and thanks for the firein the donkie. Took me back I grow up with a donkie for hot water on the farm. The hot water for the shower was wonderful. The farm is very beautiful and very neat. The next morning we took a lot of pictures of the beautiful goat rams. Little bit to much steps in the rooms for old people but we enjoy the night and the stars.

              Very small room with minimum kitchen facilities. Only a one plate gas stove for cooking, a gas geyser for hot water during winter would be a bonus. Expected a bit more, very very basic accommodation. Duvet cover needs to be replaced as well, faded from all the washing. Last but least, no real welcome by the farm owner while his wife is teaching miles away. Bit of a let down.

              Louisa was an amazing hostess and spent a lot of the me chatting to us. Unfortunately, it was bitterly cold and they are undergoing renovations at the moment so our cabin wasn’t quite in order. But was value for money.
