Lake Glencairn is situated 7 kilometres outside of Himeville on the Sani Pass Road with a large lake that covers 40 hectares, a stone’s throw away from the accommodation. Set on a farm which has the Pholela River running through it, making it ideal for lake and river fishing right on your doorstep. The farm has a variety of game animals on the property. Enjoy onsite activities such as horse riding, tubing, trail running, walking around the dam and along the river or even take a canoe and row on the dam. As we got to Lake Glencairn it looked peaceful and money well spent, but much to our dissapointment. There is no reception to show you the room, the manager was no where to be found for our entire stay. At first glance the room looks clean. Please accept that this is objective criticism. The venue is a farm which recently changed hands and the new owners have a great deal of work on their hands attending to a good deal of neglect all round. In fact the current accommodation, which has a number of problems, will in time be demolished and new chalets built in a different area, so one can understand that not much money is being spent... apart from us not getting the unit we booked for, our stay was fantastic, our hosts very friendly. accomodation was comfortable but would recommend that electric blankets or heaters be put in the units that dont have fire places. We will definitely be back
