If you wish to try your hand at fly fishing, La Ferme has stocked dams right on your doorstep. You can choose to sit on the wooden deck of your chalet and light a fire or, as it is self catering, take a 5 minute drive into Franchshoek and visit one of the many establishments whether it be fine dining or pub n grub, the choice is yours.

There are four well stocked fishing dams in which to catch rainbow trout, bass and carp. You can spend hours by the dams and can even pack picnics and make a family event out of it. Braai facilities around the dams make it easy for you to simply relax and socialise alongside your rods and the water. For outdoor lovers, mountain biking and hiking is also available in the Limietberg Nature Reserve – our neighbour!

You can bring your own bikes however you will need to book a permit through Cape Nature. La Ferme is popular as its Franschhoek accommodation is perfect for animal and bird watching. Here, guests can observe the majestic fish eagle and other animals.

Other activities near to our Franschhoek cottages include fabulous Franschhoek restaurants, the quaint towns of Stellenbosch and Paarl are also within a short distance drive away, and have various art galleries for you to stroll through as well as gift, cheese, chocolate and coffee shops for you to enjoy.
