About King's Grant Country Retreat
Nestled in a valley near Ixopo in KwaZulu-Natal, King’s Grant was established in 1891 as a supply farm for the nearby seminary by German Trappist Monks. In 1996 it was sold to the Biggs Family who have tastefully converted it into a 3 Star guest lodge whilst retaining its original charm and atmosphere of peace and tranquility. It now offers warm country hospitality and allows one to take a step back into the past and enjoy a slower pace of life. The original living quarters of the German and Dutch brothers and sisters have been stylishly restored and converted into comfortable B&B
The quaint St. Isidor Chapel is perfect for intimate weddings or the renewal of wedding vows.
We pledge to implement a high standard of hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests. We adhere to the industry safety protocols set out by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).
