Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay situated halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The Karoo Hippo Conservancy is just 8 km off the N1 between Colesberg and Hanover, and is a perfect place to refresh after a long drive. Come and see the only hippos in the Karoo. You can even enjoy sundowners at the hippo pool followed by a blowout three-course evening braai. Catch your breath in the wide, open spaces of the Karoo. If you are after a bit of action, there is mountain biking, donkey cart rides, birding, night drives and flying at the local airstrip. Two guesthouses are available
Hippo drives every afternoon ( the only hippo population in the Northern Cape , night drives and birding drives , walks to see bushman etchings.
We cater for weddings , country / farm style , weekend packages , very popular venue , book well in advance.

Every afternoon at 17h00 in winter and 18h00 in summer PC will take you on a relaxing drive down to the hippo pool. Enjoy sundowners on the hippo deck and watch the only hippos in the Karoo, while PC shares their incredible story with you.
We offer fixed tents or camping sites with ablution and braai facilities.
