Hotel guests from Cape Town often visit the family-friendly farm as their exclusive getaway to the Karoo. The rooms are elegantly decorated with unique local artworks, with some rooms showcasing an exclusive fireplace, private bathrooms, open terraces with scenic views across the garden or out to the Matroosberg Mountain range.

While the historic farm buildings date back to 1756, the Karoo1 Hotel Village has been completely renovated from the original farm into an affordable boutique hotel with all the modern conveniences and old-world charm from yesteryear. Guests are able to use the free high-speed Wi-Fi, parking, gym and sauna and a farm-style breakfast which are all-inclusive of the night’s stay.

One of the identifying features of Karoo 1 Hotel and Village is the natural swimming pool hidden in a local "kloof" just 900 meters away from the hotel. If you do not feel like walking out to the rock pool, Karoo1 Hotel pool is conveniently situated near the restaurant and bar area.

While some guests may opt to lounge in the sun at the pools, others might be more inclined to explore the surrounding indigenous Karoo fauna and flora. Whilst rock climbing, hiking or mountain biking are popular activities in the area. Karoo1 Hotel Village is geologically located in an oasis in the arid landscape of the Karoo which is why it has held such historical significance to travellers over the last few centenaries as a stopover point.

Picnics can be arranged at the hotel reception and there are a number of historical lookout points and local landmarks to enjoy your prepared basket in the bush.

Farm styled lunch and dinner is served each day from the restaurant with freshly prepared ingredients and local delicacies native to Karoo farm life. A pizza oven and lighter meals such as wraps, sandwiches and a kiddie’s menu can be had in the recently opened brassiere.

Kids are catered for with a game’s rooms, tractor rides, egg collecting from the chicken coup and nightly outdoor cinema, keeping them occupied for hours.

The hotel includes a unique private collection of contemporary art that is scattered throughout the walkways, hotel, restaurant reception areas and rooms. Some of the art pieces are made on the farm and others sourced from other regions of South Africa.
