Visitors to the farm can hike along the various trails amongst the mountain fynbos. Other activities include horse riding, mountain biking, birding and stargazing. The Campsite consists of a basic ablution shed with a flush toilet and a hot shower. There is a beautiful old wild olive tree under which to camp and braai facilities are provided. We guarantee privacy and peace by allowing only one set of visitors at a time so guests have the place to themselves. Our ethos on Joubertskraal Farm is to restore the land to its natural state and rehabilitate damaged lands using sustainable permaculture farming principles. The majority of materials used in creating the Campsite were either recycled or found on the farm itself and the braai wood comprises alien vegetation cleared off the site. The rate includes unlimited firewood. Although the water is adequate for bathing, guests are asked to bring their own drinking water. Guests are asked to separate their waste which we will be taken to the recycling depot in St Francis Bay.The dirt road to our farm is unfortunately in poor condition and although a 4x4 is not necessary, low clearance vehicles are not recommended. It takes approximately 1.5hrs to travel the dirt road from Kareedouw, so our farm is not suitable for daily trips to and from the coast.
