Important Information

1. A reservation may not be transferred. Reductions or extensions are subject to arrangement with management.
2. The Lodge reserves the right to increase the quoted tariff without notice and guests are liable to pay the tariff application at the time of arrival.
3. Deposits made with bookings are not refundable if the accommodation is taken up. In addition, the Lodge shall be entitled to charge guests the tariff for the full period booked, unless cancellation has been made according to the cancellation policy.
4. Where rooms are not vacated by 10:00 am an extra day's accommodation may be charged.
5. The lodge will not be responsible for damage to or loss of any property (whether the property of a guest or that of anyone else) by fire, theft, rain or through any cause whatsoever, Nor will the lodge be responsible for any personal injury which may be sustained in or about its premises by any guest whether such injury be caused by any negligent or wrongful act or any fora and flora of any servant or agent of the lodge or otherwise however.
6. No animal or bird may be brought or kept on premises.
7. Management may be entitled to stipulate rules for dress and conduct on the Lodge premises and guests shall be oblige to observe such rules.
8. Management reserves the right to admission.
9. No Smoking in any of the rooms as this may result in a fire, contravention here of may lead to prosecution in terms of the smoking laws.
10. A R500 Fee PER UNIT will be charged on check in and will be returned on check-out depending on breakages, negligence OR ANY LOSS THAT WAS ENDURED BY HIPPO LODGE (EX. GUEST MONIES THAT MIGHT HAVE TO BE PAID BACK IN DUE TO NOISE LEVELS, PARTIES ETC) this will be cash only. IF WE HAVE TO USE YOUR CARD FOR THIS WE WILL TAKE 2% FOR BANK CHARGES
11. Please note that 2% surcharge will be added for international credit fees.
12. A 5% surcharge of the tariff will be charged for an Administration fee on all cancellations.
13. Pool use at own risk, also adhere to pool rules and noise rules
14. There will be no cleaning services on, Public Holidays, 25 December & 1 January.
15. Units will be stocked with room amenities & tea, coffee & sugar station only on arrival.
16. Check inn is at 14:00pm
17. Office hours are Mon – Sat: 8:00am - 20:00pm, Sun: 8:00am – 16:00pm, Public Holidays 8:00am – 17:00pm & Closed on 25th December & 1st January
18. Please make arrangement with us for late check inns & all late check inns must be paid in full before arrival
19. Please take note we are on municipality water, we are experiencing water shortages & you might experience no water during your stay.
20. If we may have a power outage, Hippo Lodge does have a generator, but not all items may work whilst generator is on like aircons etc.
21. In the best interest of our Guests, business, premises and to ensure that All Guests enjoy a peaceful stay the following rules are to be noted and adhered to;
NO LOUD MUSIC OR PARTIES are permitted with the premises of the Hippo Lodge. All units are equipped with Open View television.
No own music may be played from any device within or outside of units, public areas or vehicle car park.
It is to be noted that the above is a “Condition of Stay” and any person/persons who are found to be non-compliant will be asked to vacate the premises with full payment. No refunds will be provided.
Hippo Lodge security are instructed to assist with the possible assistance of the SAPS with the control and possible removal of unruly persons.
Any losses that me directly or indirectly incurred by Hippo Lodge will be charged to the person / persons responsible for such damage
22. Noise levels to be kept down between 21:00pm and 8:00am.
23. The usage of the pool will be closed between 21:00pm and 8:00am
24. The braai area for unit 4 is for those guest use only
25. Extra braais can be collected from reception during office hours, subject to availability
In the event of the account not being settled, I will personally hold myself responsible for all costs relating to my accommodation and extras at the lodge.
