Situated within in the Thornhill precinct of the Golf Estate and overlooking the 8th Hole the Belhaven Suite comprises of three tastefully decorated en-suite rooms all leading onto a living area which leads onto a patio and braai area overlooking the golf course. There is also an enclosed “kuier” area for windy days.
The Belhaven Suite can be booked for golf or family groups or to cater to couples or singles who want to experience all the Estate and the wider Dullstroom area has to offer. All rooms are furnished with two single beds (together making a king). The third room is wheelchair friendly. All bathrooms have showers.
‘Over the 8th’ is dedicated to relaxation and taking in breathtaking mountain views. The space includes an indoor area with a fireplace, TV, and limited kitchen facilities, an outdoor space for sunset viewing which includes a fireplace but can also be used to braai, and a garden space.
The idea behind the Suite is to enjoy the time spent in the mountains and not worry about cooking. The Clubhouse serves mouthwatering meals and can also provide braai packs should you wish to braai at the Suite. Alternatively, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Dullstroom town.
Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate is a 700 hectare estate surrounded by exquisite scenic mountain views. It is an ideal getaway for the whole family and boasts an array of outdoor activities.
The Clubhouse consists of The Flycatcher restaurant, bar, kids play area and Pro Shop. Baskets can be ordered at the restaurant for picnics at designated areas.
The two kilometers hiking trail to the waterfalls is an easy walk with the 10 kilometers mountain trail a bit more advanced. Walking trails provide an opportunity to view the large variety of beautiful and rare species of flora and fauna. The Kruisfontein Loop is a 43 kilometers mountain biking route for experienced riders but the family cycle route is for everyone.
Instream and outstream trout fishing dams are available for use by fly fishing enthusiasts. The tennis court (next to the Club House) provides spectacular mountain views. Rackets and balls can be hired from the Pro Shop. The Estate is currently in the process of installing a padel court.
