This distinguished gentleman, who once served in the harbour service, dedicated his primary job as a health officer to eradicating vermin from the port as a rat catcher. To honor his important work, this remarkable house was named Hamelin, after the renowned story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Situated on the picturesque southern side of the port, Hamelin Guest House offers unrivaled access to both the bustling harbor and the vibrant city center. Nestled in a serene, green suburb on Durban's most prominent natural landmark, the Bluff, our location provides a tranquil sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
