Gite Atlas Mazik offers simple yet comfortable budget accommodation for guests wanting to explore the valley or Ait Mizan and the massif of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Gite Atlas Mazik lies at the foot of Jebel Toubkal and offers panoramic views of the Berber villages clinging to the snow-capped Atlas mountains from its balconies.
Your host, Mohamed Id Bousalem, has been in the tourism industry since the early 80s and his experience allows him to assist guests with extensive information about the Imlil Valley and surrounding mountain ranges. His son, Ibrahim, and his little son, Husain experienced mountaineers, can assist hikes and treks in the surrounding area.
At Gite Atlas Mazik, guests can enjoy the silence, away from noise, roads and pollution. You can relax and choose to do nothing, simply taking in the scenery and enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. The simply furnished rooms provide a restful environment for travellers, and there is also a common room and dining room opening out onto balcony overlooking the entire valley.
The hostel Mzik provides an opportunity to experience the life of a Berber family, where guests can learn how to prepare tagine and couscous, work in the fields, see the women weaving and the men making pack saddles for mules or repairing the canals. Meals are prepared by the women of the house. The Idboussalem family will be happy to share these moments with you and you will feel warmly welcomed into their lives.
