About Gecko's Place

At the very end of Agate Terrace, surrounded by virgin forests, unspoilt mountains and beautiful beaches lies Gecko's Place. We offer a lovely, renovated, fully-equipped cottage perfect for the self-catering couple. The cottage contains one bedroom, a large bathroom and a quaint kitchen. Guests also have the use of a closed verandah.For the larger family, a comfortable three-bedroom unit with twin beds and a sleeper couch can sleep up to eight guests. The unit comprises a full bathroom with shower and separate toilet, an open-plan kitchen and lounge area that walks out

After the long trip to Port st John's, it was a welcome relief to see the grassy stands for our tent. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who was very helpful. The bathrooms is basic but efficient with warm water. With the sea just at the other side of the road Gecko's made it a pleasant experience. We stayed in Caravan 2 for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful setting from which to explore Port St Johns and surrounds.  The caravan accommodation, as is to be expected, is rustic but totally acceptable, and Louis and Jackie are the most kind and helpful hosts.  Especially Louis' advice on where to go, what to do and what to see was most appreciated. The road to the accommodation is a very bad dirtroad and it takes you at least half an hour to reach the Gecko's Place.The big house smells awfull. When you take a shower the smoke of the waterheatinginstallation comes in the house.The owners are  very helpfull.
