Gateside Guesthouse is set in the heart of the tranquil Hilton Village only 10 kms from Pietermaritzburg. We sleep 30 guests & offer small meeting & conference facilities for a maximum 16 people.The self-catering units and B&B rooms have breathtaking views across the green pastures and dam to local Table Mountain.Close to Hilton, St. Anne's, Grace & Etham Colleges, Cowan House & Laddsworth primary schools alongwith Hilton Life Hospital. We are within easy reach of restaurants, shopping centres & local businesses whilst still enjoying a peaceful village setting. Situated halfway between
Small conferences for 16 delegates maximum. Lunches, teas & dinners served at the guesthouse by prior arrangement.
Spacious garden with large swimming pool,(not fenced.) 8 of our 9 rooms/units are self-catered & we have units that can sleep from 2 to 6 guests.
Frog Cottage is set away from the rest of the guesthouse accommodation & provides an idyllic setting for honeymooners overnighting with the rooms & decks/balconies showcasing the magnificent view.
We pledge to implement a high standard of hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests. We adhere to the industry safety protocols set out by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).

GATESIDE GUESTHOUSE - Reservation Conditions
- On day of check-in, should the period of stay or numbers of guests booked for, be altered, the amount due for
the original period /number of guests booked is liable in full.
- No persons other than those quoted for are permitted to share the accommodation.
- Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or guesthouse building.Provision is made for smokers at the outside
areas.
- Check-in time: From 2.00pm Check-out time: By 10.00am
- Breakfast times: Monday to Saturday 7.00am - 9.00am, Sundays 7.30am - 9.30am.Should you need an early
departure & would like a packed breakfast, please order the previous day and before 12pm.We do also offer
packed lunches & dinner trays set up in your room: again, a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to arrival please
& prior to 12pm the previous day.
- Dietary requirements: any specific dietary requirements need to be communicated to us 24 hours prior to
arrival.
- Late arrivals: the guesthouse will make arrangements with guests for a self-checkin after 6.30pm.
- The owner reserves the right to claim for any damages incurred to owner’s property during the guest(s)
period of stay & reserves right of admission if any above instance gives due cause with immediate effect.
- No functions or parties are permitted.
- We provide plastic glassed in your rooms. No glass by the pool please.
