The Lodge offers two kinds of cottages, depending on your desire and comfort. There are four double traditional tents and four brick cottages, all with en suite bathrooms. We designed the entire lodge to ensure that each cottage is private and quiet, whether for honeymooners or families with young children.
Our lounge is designed to give you a taste of modernity in the heart of Masai Mara. The lounge, bar and the dining area synchronized in the same clubhouse to give the clients easy movement from one place to another. And a place where the clients can share their experience for the day. Our Lodge offers great services which exceed guests' expectations.
A section of the circular lounge roof gently curves away to shelter the dining room with its huge chandeliers. The buffet area is located to one side of this in a large annex with a spectacular different, granite-topped live cooking area, and the excellent food ranges between Continental, Swahili (Kenya Coast), and Mediterranean cuisines, often with a deliciously subtle fusion of all three disciplines. These are accompanied by a selection of home-baked breads and garden-fresh fruits and vegetables.
There are 12 cottages built in a crescent shape, and each makuti thatched roof to make the room temperature cool. Our Lodge boasts luxury cottages designed to meet all your needs and comforts in the wild. The Luxury walk-in cottages are equipped with large comfortable beds, mosquito nets, clothes rack, carpet and writing desk. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower, a flush toilet, a ceramic tiled floor, and hand washbasin. All cottages have been placed far from each other to guarantee complete privacy and have a veranda with sun chairs.
Njaaga Relaxing Corner with its entire walls builds using mazeras and zebra painted panel finish, cozy ambiance, romantically subtle concealed lighting and high, locally made bar stools. We have a well-stocked Bar mostly with African Beers, Wines, and other internationally recognized brands. The bar is well stocked with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It is attached to the main Lounge and next to the Dinning. The services are personalized with a standby waiter always at your back and call.
The experience of having meals cooked and served in Kenya´s wilderness is exciting, memorable, and unique. With a glass of Champaign or wine in your hand, you will be able to listen to the sound of birds. Day and Evening Game drives: Done in an open vehicle, as well as birding and walking excursions, are all part of the Explorer Nature Mara Lodge experience.
We light a fire using a hardwood stick and softwood (cedar)! We set the cedar on a metal blade, then grind it with the hardwood stick. The shavings catch fire and are transferred to a bundle of dried grass to make a larger fire. Be part of this thrilling activity and learn the basics of survival in the wilderness while you are sitting around the blazing bonfire listening to traditional stories or enjoy dancing around it. This experience connects you to the local people to share and understand the African way of life.
