Officially known as Emgwenya, this is a small town located on the edge of the Escarpment on the banks of the Elands River. It is above the 75m Elands Falls on the railway line from Pretoria to Maputo, in Mpumalanga.

★★★★★ Ons het heerlik gekuier in Waterval Boven, met hope besienswaardighede in die omtrek. Die tuisgebakte koekies en turksvye wat vir ons afgeskil is, was 'n lekker bederfie. Ellie en haar man het uit hul pad gegaan om ons tuis te laat voel. Die akkomodasie is op standaard en daar was als wat ons nodig gehad het. Ons kan dit aanbeveel.

★★★★★ We enjoyed our stay in this quiet part of town. Hosts were great. This is not a 5 star hotel, but good value for money basic accommodation. It can sleep 3 and there is facilities to have a "braai". The hosts are vary accommodating and share information about the area freely. I would stay there again.
