Situated on the Welbedacht Cliff Tops 3 km from Knysna Town, the Lodge overlooks the Knysna Lagoon and the Outeniqua mountains. The theme of the Lodge is one based on natural beauty, with stone and wood architecture combining to give that comfortable earthy feel.
The lodge is an owner run business that prides itself on personal service and ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.
Champagne and oysters, sunset cruises and sundowners on the deck around the swimming pool are a few of the experiences to look forward to.

An amazing view is not enough for layback service - could try harder A lovely guest house in amazing position with excellent views. However your welcome note says you will be pampered beyond your wildest dreams. While porter / waiter "Fish" did try to help us his service was a hit and miss and lacking in places.You are a drive out of Knysna and while menus are available a helping suggestion from the Host Ryan would not have gone a miss. We did in fact not meet them till our last morning just as we were leaving. Maybe as we were 2 guys travelling together they thought we could fend for oursel...

My wife and I had the most amazing honeymoon and we have the wonderful people and accommodation at Elephant Hide to thank. The setting and views were unbelievable and the breakfasts were superb. We will definitely go back for another romantic get away. Thank you!!!

This was the most amazing accommodation. The room was beautiful with a jacuzzi bath above the bed and wonderful views.I must mention the breakfast (esp the pancakes) which were out of this world. 2 nights really wasn't enough! very convenient for exploring Knysna and some great little craft shops in the surrounding area.Lovely touches such as a bottle of champagne when we arrived.

It was our first visit to South Africa and what an introduction to their hospitality from the family that run this guest lodge. The Elephant Hide was excellent in every way, wonderful location with the most amazing views, superb accommodation, and the bathrooms are to die for! You can luxuriate in the bath and enjoy the most amazing view at the same time. The food was well presented and delicious, with very friendly service (usually by one of the family).Nothing was too much trouble, your every need was catered for. I only hope they keep up the good work we would love to go back.
