About Douglas Drift

Douglas Drift offers a lovely country getaway, situated 4.5km outside of Underberg town with magnificent views of the Umzimkulu River. The property sits at 1561metres above sea level. Enjoy fresh air and tranquillity in one of our four cosy cottages/units. Should you be a group of people and take all three cottages, there is a bonus – a communal kitchen with all equipment required for cooking , plus braai facilities and outside areas to sit and enjoy the views.

★★★★★ Lovely setting, Great location. Close to activities & the spectacular Sani Pass. Short but steep hike to the river. Chalets are clean & services, although Sage is a tad small but great value. Communal kitchen & braai area was great although my only criticism would be the odd utensil was missing(colander, decent knives) but hardly worth mentioning. ★★★★★ Rosemary cottage was lovely decorated and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the showers hot and the bedding clean. Sage room is not recommended for stay. The bed was hard, the hot water in basin did not work and shower was not working properly. This room is more like a khaya. And we paid the same price for this room as for Rosemary cottage. Beautiful countryside, welcoming hosts a place to be quiet and relax next to the river and soak up the beauty. Great location to explore the rest of the berg or take a trip up to Sani pass. Will definitely visit here again.
