Cote Cottage is situated in the residential suburb of Roundhay in Somerset West. Within a 15 minute
drive, guests can reach local wine estates such as Vergelegen, Lourensford, Morgenster and
Idiom. Stellenbosch is 20 minutes away. The cottage is named for the ample bird life in the
garden. The property consists of an owner occupied main house at the front of the property and
two self catering cottages at the rear. Cote Cottage is private and secure and backs on to our
other 1 bedroom cottage. The cottage is well equipped and comes with uncapped wifi,
Compact DSTV and it’s ideal for visiting academics, tourists wanting a centrally located base,
and for guests attending functions or hospitals in the Helderberg area. There is a UPS on the
wifi which is uninterrupted during normal 2 hour load shedding, however the property does not
have a generator or inverter, but relies instead on the gas cooker, chargeable light bulbs and the
flashlights which are equipped.
The cottage measures +- 80 m2 floor area including the covered porch. It comprises a modern
open plan lounge and well equipped kitchen with a stove ( gas hob/electric oven) and washing
machine. Both bedrooms have ample cupboards with a double bed in the one bedroom and
two single beds in the second bedroom. These can be converted to a king size bed, depending
on guest requirements. The bathroom has a shower. The covered porch is a good size, plus
there is a patio with a shaded awning. Guests can braai/BBQ in the garden which is completely
enclosed and safe for children. Off street parking is in a shared driveway behind an electric
gate. Tandem parking is possible for 2 vehicles although 2 x 4x4s might be a tight fit.
There are 2 family dogs on the property and they are kept out of the driveway and away from
guests. Longer staying guests are provided with fresh linen and towels and can contact our
trusted cleaning service provider at a nominal rate, should they wish to have the cottage
cleaned during their stay. Non-aggressive pets are welcome at an extra cost, and we encourage guests to bring
their own pet bedding as the floors are tiled. The neighboring dogs will be visible through the
wooden slatted fence should your dog have an active dislike towards others. Radloff Park
is 1 km away, with a river, open fields, scenic paths all great for walking dogs off lead.
