One of the old houses of the city is home to Hotel Casavieja, on Calle Maria Adelina Flores No. 27, the Barrio de Guadalupe, declared a historic monument by decree published in the official journal of the federal government of December 4, 1986.In the early seventeenth century the street known today Maria Adelina Flores, was a road that led to the east of the city, mainly to communicate with the neighborhood Cuxtitali of people coming from Guatemala, perhaps from the meeting Mazariegos, founder of Villa Real Chiapa, or Chiapa of the Spaniards, with Portocarrero, somewhere near Comitan area, stopped the entrance to this region of the Captaincy General of Guatemala, Pedro de Alvarado who ran.
